Interlibrary Loan with ILLiad: Requesting Items During Campus Closure

Guide to borrowing materials from other libraries through interlibrary loan.

Campus Closure

Starting March 16, 2020, the UC Hastings campus will be closed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  During the closure, the Interlibrary Loan Department will be making adjustments to the services we provide.  Please note:

  • Until further notice, we cannot borrow or lend physical items (books, DVDs, etc).
  • We can accept requests for copies of articles.  You may view instructions on the Requesting Articles page.
  • We can accept requests for copies of book chapters.  However, because many libraries are temporarily closed, there is limited availability for providing book scans. With that in mind, see the instructions below for requesting a scan from a book.
  • If you currently have an ILL book in your possession, please keep it for now.

Email us at libill @ if you have questions or need additional assistance.

Wishing you good health,

ILL Department

Requesting Book Chapters

Step 3.  Click on the "Book Chapter" link in the left-side menu under "New Request."

Step 4.  Fill out the Book Chapter Request Form with as much information as you have.  Please be sure to include the chapters, sections, and/or pages needed.  When you are done, click the Submit Request button.

After submitting, the request goes to the ILL Department for processing. It will now appear in your Outstanding Requests list. You will receive an email when the PDF of the book chapter arrives.  We will contact you by email if we run into any difficulty filling your request.
